Kidley App reflects the kind of calm, predictable responses I encourage families to practise: validate feelings, keep limits consistent, repair after rupture, and know when sleep, feeding or development may need individual clinical support.

The warm-and-firm approach is exactly the balance many families need. Children feel safest when emotions are met with connection while boundaries remain clear, consistent, and realistic for their stage of development.

Liu, the calm companion

The tiger cub who makes the app warm enough to return to under pressure. Not a gimmick; a deliberate choice to make the parent want to open the app at 7pm.

The home page itself

This is the only parenting app where the right script is in your hand before the meltdown starts.

Books sit on a shelf. Courses sit in your inbox. Kidley opens to a home page that already knows it’s a Tuesday at bedtime in your house: the protocols on top are the ones most likely to fire tonight, the daily ritual is age-matched, and your library is one tap away. Built like a newspaper for the parent at the worst hour of the day.

🇩🇰 Today, Denmark: Try “hyggekrog” tonight, a tiny cosy corner.
Changes with the hour

Likely tonight

At 5pm, the home page surfaces the screen shutdown protocol and the dinner fight protocol. At 7pm, it shows bedtime resistance and bath refusal. The protocols come to you, not the other way around.

Word of the day

One feeling-word a day, with an age-appropriate definition you can read aloud. Emotional literacy is the single biggest predictor of self-regulation. We make it as easy as brushing teeth.

Today: “frustrated”: when something is hard and your body wants to give up.
The journal

The only parenting app that learns your child as you go.

Tips treat every child the same. Kidley doesn’t. After each hard moment you log one line: what happened, what you tried, how it landed. Kidley turns those notes into a real picture of your child, and every script, protocol, and plan gets tuned to fit them. The more you use it, the more it sounds like it actually knows your kid.

Ten seconds, after the moment
📓

Log how it went

Bedtime, the meltdown, the school run. One tap to capture what happened and how your child responded, while it’s still fresh. No journaling homework, just a line.

📝 Tonight: “Two wake-ups. The boring return worked the second time.”
Kidley does the noticing
🔎

See the pattern you’d miss

Your notes become trends: the nights that are hardest, the triggers that repeat, the words that are starting to land. The seven-night trend draws itself, automatically.

📈 Kidley spotted: Bedtime is hardest on the nights after daycare. Here’s the adjustment.
Your plan, not a template
🎯

The plan tunes to your child

What you log feeds your child’s profile, so the coach’s exact words and your step-by-step plan keep getting more tailored to your actual kid: their age, their temperament, their week.

So next time: The script already fits the child you logged, not a generic four-year-old.

Why most parenting advice doesn't stick

You've read the books. You agree with them. But the words never come when you need them.

It's not a knowledge problem. Most parents reading this already know, kids need warmth and limits, feelings get named, repair matters more than perfection. The gap is between what you've read on a calm Sunday and what actually comes out of your mouth on a hard Wednesday. Kidley App exists to close that gap.

The pattern
You read it. You agreed with it.

And then you forgot it under pressure.

A book chapter is information. A protocol is a rehearsed move. Without practice, the chapter stays on the shelf, and the old patterns; the snap, the give-in, the apology, run the house.

The cost
Both parents, different scripts.

Inconsistency teaches the child to negotiate.

When the response changes night to night, parent to parent, the child learns the boundary is moveable. The fight isn't the meltdown; it's the next twelve months of softening limits.

The fix
Learn it before you need it.

The same language. Practised. Ready.

A parent who has read the bedtime protocol three times in calm windows walks into bedtime differently. Same child, same room, same hour, different parent. That's the whole product.

The shift isn't trying harder. It's having practised the language before the room got loud.

The protocols in Kidley App are not crisis search results. They are short, structured lessons written for the calm twenty minutes you actually have, designed to be re-read until the language is yours. By the time the hard moment arrives, you're not improvising. You're remembering.

Read in a calm window Re-read with your partner Language becomes yours Hard moment lands softer Pattern shifts over weeks

Introducing Kidley App

One calm-response system. 22 hard moments. The exact words for each; practised before you need them.

Kidley App is not a course you have to finish. It’s a working manual you read in calm windows, revisit when something new comes up, and use to shape how you walk into the next hard moment.

Built on one simple principle: feelings are accepted, behaviour is still guided. Warm enough for the child to feel safe. Firm enough for the boundary to hold.

1
Learn the moment.

Meltdown, bedtime, hitting, screens, potty, sleep, or sibling conflict; read the protocol in twenty minutes, with your partner if possible.

2
Practise the script.

One anchor sentence and the next physical step. Say it out loud to yourself first. Most parents do.

3
Repair and teach later.

After the storm, the app gives you repair language and what to practise next, so the pattern actually shifts.

The method underneath

Kidley App turns “I don’t know what to do” into the exact next sentence.

Children learn from patterns. The app helps parents build the pattern they actually want repeated.

A family scene at 6pm, a child mid-meltdown, parent overwhelmed, Liu beside the parent staying calm

The accidental loop

When escalation runs the house

1

Child struggles with a limit.

2

Child escalates: screaming, stalling, hitting, refusing.

3

Parent gives in, over-talks, or changes the rule to end the noise.

The child learns escalation has power, even though nobody meant to teach that.
The same family, after the storm, parent and child hugging peacefully, Liu watching softly from the side

The intentional loop

When the adult is the stable point

1

Child struggles with a limit.

2

Child escalates, and the parent uses the protocol.

3

Parent validates feelings, protects safety, holds the next step.

The child learns the adult is safe, steady, and not available for endless negotiation.
C
Connect
Lower the voice before adding words.
A
Anchor
One short sentence, not a speech.
L
Limit
Feelings allowed. Boundary held.
M
Move on
Teach after the storm, not inside it.

Anxiety, big transitions, screens for older kids, neurodivergence-aware versions, school refusal, friendship fights, body changes, and more. Founding members get all of it automatically, at no extra cost. And you can request the next ones we build.

Every protocol ends with a path.

Parents aren’t left at “good luck.” Each protocol gives after-the-moment repair language, what to track for three days, when to open a guide, and when to seek extra specialist support. No dead ends.

The only parenting app with a character designed to lower your nervous system.

Liu is a small tiger cub. Liu shows up at the top of every protocol, every guide, every tool. Liu is the deliberate, designed reason parents actually want to open the app at the worst hour of the day, instead of doom-scrolling.

Kidley App is an educational support tool built on established principles: co-regulation, predictable boundaries, repair after rupture, skill practice over punishment, safe sleep guidance, and developmentally clear language.

Every protocol cites the principle underneath in plain English, so parents can understand the scripts, not just repeat them.

Co-regulation, in plain English Why “regulate before teaching” isn’t a parenting fad; it’s how children’s nervous systems actually learn.
The repair principle Rupture isn’t failure. The repair is where learning happens. The app gives you the words for it.
Skill practice over consequence Behaviour change comes from rehearsed alternatives in the calm window, not threats in the loud one.
Safety, age-nuance, red flags Every protocol notes when a behaviour is developmentally typical, when it isn’t, and when to seek extra specialist support.
Why this, not the alternatives

Nothing else does what Kidley does. Here’s the proof.

Books, courses, and one-off therapy sessions all have their place. None of them open at 7pm with the next sentence already on screen.

Questions parents ask before buying

Quick answers, before you open the app.

What exactly is the Founding 250 offer?+
Founding families get the complete system at $14, the lowest price it will be, and it’s yours to keep. The founding price rises for later families. Kidley+ (the live coach, the journal, and your kids’ story studios) is a separate, optional $9/mo, cancel anytime.
Is this backed by doctors and child development research?+
Yes. Every protocol is built on the science of co-regulation, attachment theory, and developmental psychology; and reviewed against current paediatric guidelines. The warm-and-firm method is grounded in the work of leading child development researchers (Bowlby, Siegel, Delahooke, Bryson, Kennedy). Red flags and safety notes in every protocol mark the points where extra clinical support may be needed. This is education, not medical advice; but the principles underneath are.
Is the $14 a one-time payment?+
Yes. $14 is a one-time payment for the complete system, and it’s yours to keep. Kidley+ is a separate, optional subscription ($9/mo) that adds the live coach, the journal that learns your child, and your kids’ story studios. You can use the system forever without it, and cancel Kidley+ any time.
What happens after the 250 founding spots are taken?+
The founding $14 price rises for later families. If you’re reading this and the page still shows $14, you’re still in time. Either way, whatever you buy stays yours to keep, forever.
What ages is Kidley for, and why those specifically?+
Kidley is built for ages 2 to 10. That's the developmental window where the "warm-and-firm" method actually works, because:
  • 2-4 years: language is exploding, first big tantrums, sleep regressions, potty-training. The child can hear scripts but can't yet self-regulate, which is exactly when calm parental scripting matters most.
  • 5-7 years: rule-testing, drop-off anxiety, sibling rivalry, screen battles. Anchor sentences and predictable limits become the spine of the household.
  • 8-10 years: independence-seeking, friendship complications, lying, big feelings dressed up as attitude. Repair scripts and longer conversations replace short ones.

Why not under 2? Pre-verbal regulation is a different toolkit (mostly attunement and routine). Why not over 10? Tween years need a different approach focused on autonomy and identity. Both are on the roadmap but not in v1.

Every protocol includes age-band nuance, so the language adapts to your specific child within that 2-10 window.

Is this a course I have to finish?+
No. Kidley App is built like a field app: you open the specific moment you’re in and use the script or card immediately. The guides go deeper when you want to work on a bigger pattern, but nothing is gated behind “Week 1, Module 3.”
Is this gentle parenting?+
It’s warm and firm. Feelings are accepted; unsafe or stuck behaviour is still guided. The goal isn’t permissive calm; it’s a steady adult, a clear boundary, and a child who knows what comes next.
Will this work on a phone?+
Yes, the whole app reads beautifully on a phone, designed to be opened in spare ten-minute windows. The For Right Now mode and the pocket cards are short and scannable for quick refreshers; the When It’s Quiet deep dives are designed for longer reading on the sofa or in bed.
What if I shouted already today?+
Open the Repair Script Builder. The app includes repair language for exactly that. The goal isn’t perfect parenting; it’s helping you return to calm, own the rupture, and teach the next skill without shame on either side.
Can both parents use it?+
That’s the design intention. Both parents using the same anchor sentence, the same routine card, and the same repair language is the single biggest predictor of whether a pattern actually shifts. Access is per-household.
Is this medical or therapeutic advice?+
No. Kidley App is educational support for everyday parenting moments. Red flags and safety notes are clearly marked where parents may need additional specialist support, and the app tells you when to seek it.
Why is the launch price so low?+
Because we’re launching publicly and want the first families in early. In exchange they get the complete system at the lowest price it will be, $14, yours to keep, before the founding price rises.
Do I get future updates?+
Yes. Founding access includes the toolkit as it exists today and the updates as they are added during the launch window. You pay once. You keep everything.
