About

Calm in the hardest 30 seconds.

Kidley is a small app for parents of small humans. It exists for the moments parenting books rush past.

Liu, calm and present
"Every parenting book agrees on what to do. None of them help you remember it at 6pm. That gap is what Kidley fills."
The Kidley team

Why we built it

We read the books. We listened to the podcasts. We agreed with every page. And then we still froze at 6pm when our two-year-old refused to put shoes on for the fourth time that day.

The gap isn't knowledge. The gap is language. When the room gets loud, the right words don't come unless you've practised them when the room was quiet.

Kidley is built for that practice. Twenty-two of the most common hard moments. The exact one-sentence script for each. The five-step sequence underneath it. A library you build by saving the moments that matter to your home.

What it is

  • 22 protocols — one per common hard moment (bedtime resistance, hitting, screen shutdowns, dinner fights, drop-off, sibling fighting…).
  • 2 deep-dive guides — Potty Training Without Shame, Sleep Independence Without Fear. Each is a full programme, written like a calm second-parent reading over your shoulder.
  • 6 tools — repair script builder, bedtime routine card, family media agreement, ten-minute connection planner, pre-outing plan, and the 5-minute "Breathe with Liu" reset.
  • Daily content — game of the day, question of the day, word of the day, and a cultural practice. All age-matched.
  • A library you build — save anything in one tap. Show up to bedtime with the four cards you actually need.

The method

Four moves, one sequence. Every protocol is built on this pattern.

  • Steady the room — lower the heat before teaching. Your nervous system is the thermostat in the house.
  • Hold the limit — kind doesn't mean unclear. The limit is loving precisely because it stays.
  • Use one sentence — less talking, more signal. Most parenting words are noise to a dysregulated child.
  • Repair after — the relationship is the long game. Ruptures don't damage; ruptures-without-repair do.
The product of Kidley isn't a clean carpet.

It's calm repetition. Smaller, warmer, clearer. One sentence. One next step.

What Kidley is not

  • Not medical advice. For health concerns, your paediatrician comes first.
  • Not therapy. If your child is in crisis, get qualified human help.
  • Not a replacement for sleep and food. Most parenting problems improve when both of those go up.
  • Not generic mindfulness content. Each protocol is specific to a moment, not a mood.

Who it's for

Parents of small humans aged roughly 2 to 10. The protocols stretch a little wider in both directions. The deep-dive guides start younger. The daily rituals auto-adjust to your child's age once you set it up.

If you've read the books and you still freeze in the moment, Kidley was made for you.

What's coming next

Kidley today is a starting point. Over the next six months, founding members get the following at no extra cost:

  • 40+ new protocols in clinical review now — covering school-age challenges, big-kid friendships, grief, anxiety, and more.
  • 3+ new long-form guides alongside the existing Potty and Sleep playbooks.
  • New core tools for parents, expanding the existing 6 (Repair Builder, Bedtime Card, Media Agreement, etc.).
  • An expanded cultural library, with new countries and rituals added every month.

Not included in the $27: kid-facing add-ons that ship later — Liu storybooks for bedtime and big feelings, audio stories, calm games. These release as a separate paid expansion; founding members will get launch-day discounts but they're not part of the founding bundle.

$27 once, lifetime access to everything you have on day one, plus six months of free updates to the core app.
