FAQ

Common questions.

The things parents ask before they buy, and the things they ask once they're in.

The product
What is Kidley, in one sentence?

A calm-response system of 22 protocols, 2 deep-dive guides, and 6 tools, designed to help parents stay calm in the hardest 30 seconds with their child.

What ages is Kidley for?

The protocols cover roughly 2 to 10 years old. The deep-dive guides (Potty, Sleep) start younger. The daily content (game / question / word / cultural practice) auto-adjusts to your child's age once you tell us in onboarding.

How is this different from a parenting book?

Books teach. Kidley prompts. The four moves and the 22 protocols are practised before the room gets loud, then surfaced at the moment you need them, with the exact one-sentence script and the five-step sequence. Books live on a shelf. Kidley lives in the pocket you reach for at 6pm.

What's the 5-minute Breathe with Liu reset?

A guided box-breath (4 in, 4 hold, 6 out, 2 rest) that runs for 5 minutes. Tap the orange orb to start and pause. Liu meditates in the centre as a visual anchor. Open it from the homepage pill, the Tools page, or any protocol's "Start 5-min reset" button.

Is this medical or therapeutic advice?

No. Kidley is content, not a service. For health, behaviour, or developmental concerns, please consult your paediatrician, GP, or a licensed mental-health professional.

Payment and access
How much does Kidley cost?

$27 as a one-time payment during the founding launch. This unlocks everything currently in Kidley and six months of new content released during that period. No subscription, no auto-renew. Get founding access →

Will I get new protocols and guides after I buy?

Yes — six months of free updates to the core app are included. The roadmap is 22 protocols today plus 40+ more in clinical review, 2 deep-dive guides today plus 3+ new ones in progress, and new core tools for parents. Founding members get all of that automatically at no extra cost during the six-month window.

What's not included: kid-facing add-ons that ship later — Liu storybooks (bedtime, big feelings), audio stories, and calm games for kids. These release as a separate paid expansion. Founding members will get launch-day discounts on them, but they're not part of the $27 founding bundle.

After the six-month window, new core content may move to a separate paid tier, but everything you have on day one stays yours forever.

Do you offer refunds?

All purchases are final. Read the sample protocols and the Foundations chapter on this site before you buy, so you know what you're getting. See Terms →

Can I use Kidley on more than one device?

Today, your profile and saved library live in the browser of the device you set them up on. Cross-device sync (so your library follows you from phone to laptop) arrives in the next release. Your access to all the content works on any device immediately.

How do I share Kidley with my partner?

For the founding launch, one purchase grants access to one household. Both parents (and any other primary caregivers) can open the app on their devices. Once accounts and sync go live, we'll formalise this into a clean "family plan" model that doesn't cost extra for founding members.

Privacy and data
Where does my profile and library live?

In your own browser's local storage. We don't have a server-side copy. We don't sell or share your data. See Privacy →

Do you use analytics, ads, or trackers?

No analytics, no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts beyond Netlify hosting and a read-only Google Sheet for the daily content. Nothing about your behaviour leaves your device.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Your local profile and saved library are gone. The content itself is unaffected — you just go through onboarding again and start saving. Once cross-device sync is live (next release), this stops being a concern.

Technical
Which browsers does Kidley support?

Anything modern: Safari 14+, Chrome / Edge / Firefox latest. Mobile Safari (iOS 15+) and Chrome Android (latest) are fully supported. The app works offline once it's loaded — you can run the breathing tool on a plane.

Is there a dark mode?

Not yet. Kidley's warm palette is part of how it communicates calm — most calming-content apps don't ship dark mode for the same reason. If founding members ask for it, we'll add a properly designed dark theme.

How do I suggest a new protocol?

From the homepage's search bar, if you type something we don't have a protocol for yet, you'll see a "Request a protocol" button. We read everything submitted. Or email hello@kidley.app.
